Bear Iona McColloch
Founder & Chief Advocate
Bear is the founder of Mt. Ursa, a think tank dedicated to social justice research and advocacy. A diverse background in the public and private sector includes time with the Washington State Senate, as well as Fortune 100/500 companies like Microsoft and Hasbro for community outreach and operational leadership. Bear’s passion for learning extends beyond the foundation and academia, and he has spent more than a decade giving back to youth mentorship programs and civic education. Bear is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he worked in international and military law and trained with the FBI for advanced crisis negotiation. Within these sectors, he specialized in instructional design and administration. Bear currently studies Political Philosophy and Government at Harvard University, and aspires to complete a JD/PhD in Human Rights Law/Public Policy.
